Terms of Service

Effective date: 2 October 2026

1. Agreeing to these terms

These terms are an agreement between you and EDUFURTHER LTD, registered in Nigeria with the Corporate Affairs Commission (RC 9879131) (“Edufurther”, “we”, “us”). They apply when you use edufurther.org, app.edufurther.org or our free tools. By using any of them, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use Edufurther.

2. Who can use Edufurther

You must be at least 16. If you are under 18, you need a parent or guardian’s permission to use Edufurther, and they agree to these terms on your behalf. Mentors must be 18 or over. Mentors must also give accurate information about their education and experience and pass our verification checks.

3. Your account

  • Give accurate information and keep it up to date.

  • Keep your password, and any sign-in codes or links we email you, safe. You are responsible for what happens on your account.

  • Tell us straight away at terms@edufurther.org if you think someone else is using it.

  • One person, one account. Accounts cannot be shared or transferred.

4. What Edufurther is, and is not

Edufurther is a platform that helps mentees and mentors find each other and arrange sessions. Mentors share their own experience and opinions.

Edufurther is not an education agency. We do not recruit students for universities, represent any institution, or submit applications on your behalf. Mentors guide you, and every decision and application stays yours.

  • No guarantees of admission, scholarships or visas. Decisions are made by universities, funders and governments, not by us or our mentors.

  • Mentors are not our employees. They are independent. Some volunteer their time, and some may offer paid sessions in future, but none are employees or agents of Edufurther. We verify identity and a credential, but we do not guarantee the accuracy of any mentor’s advice.

  • Not professional advice. Nothing on Edufurther is legal, immigration, financial or tax advice. Check important decisions with the official source or a qualified professional.

5. Free tools

Edufurther offers free tools, such as the Scholarship Finder, that need no account. These terms apply to all of them, including any we add later.

  • Results are a guide, not a guarantee. Our tools combine public data and AI-generated content. Costs, deadlines and eligibility can change at any time, so always confirm details with the official source, such as the funder’s or university’s own page, before you act on them.

  • AI can make mistakes. If something looks wrong, report it to terms@edufurther.org or through the reporting tool on the platform so we can fix it.

  • You may not scrape, resell or bulk-download the tools’ output, or use automated means to overload them.

6. Community rules

Everyone on Edufurther agrees not to:

  • harass, threaten, discriminate against or exploit anyone

  • share false information about yourself, your credentials or your results

  • ask for or offer money, gifts or personal favours outside the platform

  • ask for passwords, bank details or identity documents from another user

  • promise admission, scholarships or visas in exchange for payment

  • post content you do not have the right to share, or that is unlawful or sexual

  • copy, scrape, reverse-engineer or disrupt the platform

  • record a session, or share a recording of one, without the consent of everyone in it

If someone breaks these rules, report them through the platform or at safety@edufurther.org. We review every report and may warn, suspend or remove accounts.

Off-platform arrangements. All sessions, messages and payments must stay on Edufurther. Anything arranged outside the platform is unofficial and not covered by these terms, and Edufurther is not responsible or liable for it.

7. Extra terms for mentors

  • Keep the sessions you accept, or cancel with at least 12 hours’ notice.

  • Share your honest experience. Do not present opinions as guarantees.

  • Respect mentees’ privacy. Do not share their information or materials outside the session without permission.

  • Do not write applications, essays or personal statements on a mentee’s behalf. Feedback and guidance are welcome.

  • We may display your name, photo, institution and ratings on your public profile.

8. Content and intellectual property

Edufurther’s name, logo, website, tools and their design belong to us. You may not use them without our written permission.

You keep ownership of what you post, such as your profile, messages and reviews. You give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host and display it so we can run Edufurther. With your permission, we may feature your review or story in our marketing.

If you send us ideas, suggestions or feedback, we may use them to improve Edufurther without owing you anything for them.

9. Ending your use

You can close your account at any time from your settings. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, puts others at risk, or has been inactive for 12 months. Sections 4, 8, 10 and 11 continue to apply after your account ends.

10. Liability

We provide Edufurther “as is”. We work hard to keep it accurate and available but cannot promise it will always be error-free or uninterrupted.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for:

  • decisions you make based on a mentor’s advice or a tool’s estimate

  • admission, scholarship or visa outcomes

  • loss of profit, opportunity or data

  • the conduct of other users, on or off the platform

Our total liability to you is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or US$10. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. If you are a consumer, you keep your statutory rights.

11. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Please contact us first so we can try to resolve any problem informally. If we cannot, disputes will be handled by the courts of Nigeria, unless the law of your home country gives you the right to bring a claim there.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. When we do, we will change the effective date at the top and post the latest version here. For significant changes, we will also let you know on the platform or by email where we reasonably can. If you keep using Edufurther after an update, you accept the new terms.

13. Third-party sites and tools

Edufurther links to sites and services we do not control, such as scholarship and university pages, and video tools used for sessions. We are not responsible for their content, availability or practices, and their own terms and policies apply when you use them.

14. General

  • If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest still applies.

  • These terms, together with our Privacy Policy, are the whole agreement between you and us about Edufurther.

  • If we do not enforce a right straight away, we have not given it up.

  • We may transfer these terms to another company if Edufurther is reorganised, merged or sold. You may not transfer them without our permission.
